I can help with Guardianship.

  • Guardianship

When a child’s parents aren’t able to care for them, whether temporarily or long-term, a guardian can step in to provide stability, support, and love. Minor guardianship gives a trusted adult the legal authority to make decisions for the child, like where they live, go to school, and receive medical care.

I’m here to help you navigate the legal steps so you can focus on what matters most: being there for the child who needs you.

  • Standby Guardianship

Standby guardianship allows parents to legally name someone to step in and care for a child, in the event they can no longer do so because of serious illness or emergency. It doesn’t take away parental rights; it simply creates a safety net.

This process helps ensure a child is cared for by someone the parent trusts, without delays or confusion. I’m here to help put that plan in place with confidence and compassion.

  • Emergency Guardianship

Sometimes life throws a curveball, and a child needs immediate protection. Emergency guardianship allows someone to step in quickly when there’s an urgent situation, like a medical crisis, sudden loss of a caregiver, or risk of harm.

Courts can appoint a temporary guardian to make sure the child is safe and supported while longer-term decisions are worked out. If you’re facing a sudden situation and don’t know where to turn, I can help guide you through the process with care and urgency.

  • Kinship Guardianship

When a child can’t live with their parents, a relative may wish to step in and provide a safe, stable home. This is called kinship guardianship.

Kinship guardians can be granted legal authority to care for the child, including making decisions about their education, medical care, and daily needs, all while allowing the child to maintain parental connections with their legal parent(s).

It’s so important to have the right legal paperwork in place when a relative child is living in your care. I’m here to help make that process clear, simple, and supportive.
