Hi, I’m Victoria…

Practice

I understand that the legal journey involved with family building can be overwhelming and emotionally challenging. Navigating a judicial system full of formalities and complicated procedures, all while trying to ensure the process is done correctly, can be daunting.  For this reason, I blend my legal knowledge and experience with sensitivity, understanding, compassion, and warmth. It is my mission to nurture a relationship with my clients where they feel seen, heard, and cared for throughout their journey.

I am passionate about running an inclusive practice; I serve clients of all types, at any stage of their family building. Additionally, I think it is critical to educate and empower the LGBTQ+ community on how to provide security for their family through the confirmation of their parental rights. Especially now, as those rights are actively being questioned.

My legal experience covers many facets of family building law, including:

Adoption  |  Stepparent Adoption  |  Second-Parent Adoption  |  Guardianship  |  Surrogacy  | Confirmatory Adoptions  |  Assisted Reproduction Agreements (including embryo donation, egg/sperm donation, and agency agreement consultation)  |  Guardian ad Litem Appointments | Foster-to-Adoption | Standby Guardianship | Adult Adoption

I am licensed in Missouri and Kansas and I can assist clients in any county throughout both states.

Personal

I like to joke that I took the “scenic route” to becoming an attorney. While attending the University of Texas at San Antonio, I learned I was too short to follow my dream of becoming an Air Force pilot. Devastated, and on the search for a new path, the following fourteen years were filled with milestones of growing my own family, a career in banking, and the slow-but-steady progress toward earning a bachelor’s degree. After graduation, I found myself at a crossroads between pursuing a career in counseling or a career in law. Ultimately, in 2016, I left my decade-long career in finance to become an attorney (with a counselor’s heart) so that I can advocate for all types of families.

I am married to Marc, have three children and three fur-babies. I enjoy photography, thrive on coffee, love gaming, and strive to advocate for my neurodiverse family.

Your stories are my purpose.

  • Victoria made me a guardian and now a parent.

After being around a child that I always loved as my own for a majority of his life, his mother ended up abandoning her home with me and her son due to some mental health struggles. Determined to not displace this child, and wanting to provide him with a stable life, I started calling around for attorneys to help me succeed in securing this child’s future. The options I were given were not reassuring and made me fear putting spotlight on this situation, as I was scared he would get uprooted if I made one wrong move while trying to navigate the complexities of our legal system. I then met Victoria, who not only helped me obtain guardianship after a long and painful process through the St. Louis County Courts that she made seem so easy and effortless, but fast forward to almost two years later where she provided legal counsel to myself and to my now adult son, Jayson, through our adult adoption. Victoria gave us our happily ever after!
